You don’t have to compare your Japanese with anyone’sFind your next step with Space

A friend already reads kanji and chats for an hour. But what you need next week might be one line to order a drink.

When the Japanese you want to use is different, so is what you practice. Instead of moving on to the next chapter faster than someone else, try using this as your marker: can I get my own thing done in Japanese?

Everyone is “learning Japanese”, but the line they need is different

After moving to JapanIntroduce yourself to someone newはじめまして、アレックスです。

In Space, Home shows what to practice today

You don’t have to choose your study material from scratch every time. Once you sign in, Home shows “Today’s picks”: a conversation to hear, and lines that are due for another try or that you saved for later.

“Today’s line” asks you to say one line from its English meaning before you see the Japanese. Lines you marked “Need more practice” come back sooner, so you spend your time on the Japanese you actually need.

Find your next step in your own voice

After listening to a conversation, you can shadow it out loud and record yourself. The AI review shows what went well and what to focus on next. Comparing the lesson audio with your recording makes it clear which part to practice.

For example, introducing yourself

Look backUse the review and the audio to find the part that felt hard, like the long vowel in 佐藤 (Satō)

NextKeep that one part in mind, and say it again

You don’t need to fix everything at once. If you know one thing to try next, today’s practice has done its job. The review changes from recording to recording, so check the model audio and your own voice too.
